There was a slight bruise on my left thigh. I couldn’t remember how it got there.
I walked on the street, and there was this guy passing by. “Hey bud, how’d I get this bruise.” I yelled.
The dude totally ignored me. He just kept walking.
“Dude. You hear me?” I called out. The guy still ignored me.
I picked up a shovel, and started to chase him down. I wanted to hit him over the head with it, and just sort of teach him a lesson. But the dude was too fast. He outran me by a country mile.
After a while I saw a nice garden by the start of the road, so I started digging in it.
I felt pretty good, but there was a slight bruise on my left thigh.

Someone just happened to leave a shovel where you would find it?
I believe you have been set up
You might be right.
You should have asked about your broken big toe while you were at it.
You have a point.
I donβt like mysterious bruises.
Me neither.
I am confused. Was the guy named Bud or Dude?
I think the protagonist in this story is confused as well.
This is why I always carry a shovel.
You are clearly smarter than the rest of us.
I’ve booked you in to the gym for fitness training and I’ll have a look at your thigh while you’re here. I’ve always wanted to look at your thigh!
How generous of you.
It was the left thigh, right?
If you had been wearing a mask 24-7, you would not have gotten that bruise on your left thigh…
Hmm… Could be. But how am I supposed to protect myself from the covid or mete out vigilante justice?
I think the bruise is a sign that you’ve already had covid, and there’s nothing to stop you from using a shovel while also wearing a mask…
Keep talking, I like where this is going…
I thought you would…
Okay but what about the bruise on your arm? Stop trying to hide the truth about your arm bruise by fixating on the thigh bruise. We want the truth and we want it now.
You cut right to the chase, don’t you?
I’m direct and have no filter- it’s a wonderful combination.
Sure is.
Bruises may be dirty but I dig gardens

Laugh often!
That’s certainly one way of looking at it.
