443: Breakfast at Sunrise

The sun was rising over Burtonsville Missouri, and Elizabeth Chandlerwick was eating breakfast at the local diner. As with most morning, Elizabeth was eating bacon and eggs. The eggs were over medium.

“How do you like them eggs?” Asked Chet.

Elizabeth ignored him, and turned the page on the Wall Street Journal. Chet owned the diner, and was annoying.

When She had finished her breakfast Elizabeth paid the bill with a check and walked out the door.

She immediately hopped on a train for Seattle.

She was in a hurry for a reason. Chet tried cashing the check that very afternoon.

It bounced.
